Common Q&A

1. How to apply for the Tissue Processing Service?

This service is only open to users who have access to the HistoStar Embedding Workstation and HM325 Rotary Microtome. Users can register for our training sessions and make equipment reservation via online booking system.

The service is to be operated on a first-come-first-served basis. Multiple reservations from different users can be made on the same day. If different users require different run programs, latecomers will be asked to reschedule via email.

BioCRF(GZ) staff will confirm with users their run details when they submit formalin-fixed samples, before 4:00pm of the scheduled run day. Fixed samples should be:

(a) enclosed in properly labeled cassettes

(b) contained in a beaker filled with 70% alcohol

2. Pick-up of Processed Samples

Users have to transfer processed samples to the issue storage tank of the HistoStar Embedding Workstation the next day by 10am to do further processing (embedding and sectioning). lf user is late for pick-up, BioCRF(GZ) is not responsible for taking care of samples.
